Writing From The Unconscious: A Four-Week Workshop

“You find and finger a phrase at a time; you lay it down cautiously, as if with tongs, and wait suspended until the next one finds you: Ah yes, then this; and yes, praise be, then this.”

— ANNIE DILLARD

Writing From The Unconscious: A Four-Week Workshop
with
Amanda Lovejoy Street

Unearth new ways of approaching written work by making contact with the unconscious. Dive down, get lost, become found. Explore a nascent idea or a life’s work. Writers and artists at all stages of writing projects are welcome.

4 Consecutive Sundays
January 12, 19, 26, and February 2
2pm – 5pm
Silverlake — The Loft

Each class will explore a different element of the writing project:
Week One: CLUES
Week Two: CHARACTER
Week Three: WORLD
Week Four: METAMORPHOSIS

Each class there will be a guided drop in with breath and body to land in a meditative state where we will explore our writing work through voice, gesture and embodied imagination. We will then come up and bring what we discovered into writing. Before we close, we will circle up and speak to what we found and share or not share the written work. In between sessions, there will be exercises to stay with the writing. During the four weeks, participants will be offered a discounted rate for privates should they want to explore one on one.

Limited to an intimate group of 7 practitioners.

Class is led by Amanda Lovejoy Street.

Tuition for 4-week workshop is $400.
